The title motion poster of Vikram’s upcoming film with Ajay Gnanamuthu was released on Wednesday. The film titled Cobra is announced for Summer 2020 release. Vikram was last seen in Mr. KK which failed at the box office. He is quite excited about the action drama which also stars KGF heroine Srinidhi Shetty in a lead role. The other interesting thing about the film is that the former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan will play the antagonist in the film. It was earlier speculated that the film’s title would be Amar but the motion poster revealed the title to be Cobra. It also hints the film is a fight for the crown among two snakes and the filmmakers revealed that it’s not a coincidence but the film has a connection to the title.
As they’ve planned to release the film in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi simultaneously, they’ve finalized the universal title. Almost half of the shooting is complete and a major portion of the film will be shot in Russia and Europe. AR Rahman is composing the score and 7 Screen Studio is producing the film. Vikram is also preparing to play the lead role in Mani Ratnam’s ambitious project based on the novel, Ponniyin Selvan. The historical novel depicts the early life of Raja Raja Chola with several twists and turns.
