The first collaboration of dashing director Puri Jagannadh and energetic star Ram Pothineni, iSmart Shankar, officially launched yesterday. The film is going to be a typical Puri mark action entertainer. Ram will reprise the role of a tech conman who refers to himself as Double Dimaak Hyderabadi. Ram had a striking makeover for the film.
‘iSmart Shankar’ had its Muhurtam ceremony yesterday morning. Actress and co-producer of the film, Charmme, gave the first clap and Ram’s uncle, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, switched on the camera.
Puri Jagannadh has carefully developed a terrific character for Ram in this stylish entertainer as it is a do-or-die situation for him. The film is crucial for both Puri Jagannadh and Ram Pothineni. Puri had a disappointment last year in the form of Mehbooba and Ram Pothineni’s Hello Guru Prema Kosame had an above-average result last year. Puri Jagannadh worked on the script for so long and Ram promised a memorable hit for his fans. So, the expectations for this combination are already high.
The regular shooting of the film started this morning in Hyderabad. The lengthy first schedule will have several crucial scenes. Puri Jagannadh is planning to cover entertaining scenes in this first schedule in his regular style. iSmart Shankar will have two female leads and Anu Emmanuel will reprise one of those roles. Satya Dev, Puneeth Issar, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Milind Gunaji are playing prominent roles in the film. Mani Sharma will compose the music. The makers have scheduled the film to release in May 2019.
