Mohini movie review

Mohini Story

Vaishnavi (Trisha), a popular chef, travels to London to assist her friend’s marriage. She meets Sandeep (Jackky Bhagnani) and falls in love with him. When they decide to take their relationship to next level, Vaishnavi gets possessed by an evil spirit called Mohini. The backstory of Mohini, the reasons behind choosing Vaishnavi, and what happened next form the rest of the story.

Mohini Story Analysis

It is a terrible story without any development. The story was developed based on regular horror movies without putting much thought into it. The characters seem lifeless throughout the film. There is no depth to scenes or characters which makes the entire film plain and boring. Even worse than the story is the execution. The terrible editing and extremely bad visual effects are shocking. The film has nothing interesting even to watch till the climax. The slow pacing, boring narration, unnecessary jump scares, and predictable scenes test patience.

Mohini Performances

Trisha is the only good thing about the film and she saved the film to some extent with her glamour and performance. She has done justice to her role. Many actors like Yogi Babu and Suresh have limited scope and they tried their level best. The actors who played minor roles are terrible. Most of them don’t even react to anything. They live and die with expressionless faces.

Mohini Technical Analysis

The story, screenplay, dialogues, background score, editing, and direction are huge disappointments. The cinematography is good to some extent. The production values are good. The visual effects are worst in recent times. The post-production work seems to be either incomplete or ignored.

Conclusion

Mohini has nothing interesting or engaging. It is just a regular horror flick with low technical values and disappointing execution. This is not worth the time and money.
