Gopichand took a break after Pantham and recently signed for an action film. Tamil director Thiru is directing the film. He is familiar to Telugu audiences through the dubbed films Vetadu-Ventadu and Indrudu, both featuring Vishal Krishna in lead roles. Gopichand signed the film to reclaim his action star image. Moreover, Thiru is good at making action films. The shooting started with a high-octane action sequence under the action choreography by Selvan. Raashi Khanna is playing the female lead in the film their third collaboration after Jil and Oxygen.
The casting is in progress and the makers have approached Bollywood actress Zareen Khan for the second female lead. Thiru wanted to rope in a Bollywood actress as the film has a large canvas.
Zareen Khan is popular for glamorous her roles in Bollywood. She positively responded to the role and it will be her debut in Tollywood. However, she already made her debut in South Indian cinema with the 2013 Tamil action film, Naan Rajavaga Pogiren, in a special song.
The first schedule started at the Indo-Pak border near Jaisalmer. Spy thrillers have a considerable market in Tollywood and Goodachari proved it recently. The film could bring Gopichand back to the star league if it has good content. The not yet titled project went on to sets under the working title Production No 18. The film is scheduled to release in May 2019.
