Mahesh – Sukumar Film to be Made on a Lavish Budget

✅ Fact Checked

Superstar Mahesh Babu is currently busy with the shooting of his latest film, Maharshi, under the direction of Vamsi Paidipally. He already announced his next film under the direction of Sukumar, who has been happy with the result of his recent movie, Rangasthalam. After the commercial success of Rangasthalam, Sukumar approached Mahesh Babu with a storyline that he instantly accepted. But on the insistence of producers, Sukumar had to change the script and started penning a fresh subject for their collaboration.

This is the second film in Mahesh – Sukumar combination, while the first is 1 Nenokkadine which failed at the box office. Sukumar earlier stated that he won’t experiment again and his next collaboration with Mahesh will be a commercial film. The mega-success of Rangasthalam raised the expectations for the film and the producers are ready to invest a fortune in the project. According to the inside talk, the film will be made over a budget of Rs 150 Crores. This is a huge budget for a film targeting only Telugu audiences. While there are already films like Baahubali and Saaho, that are made with huge budgets, they have planned releases in multiple languages and the producers have assured table profits. But the film may not get table profits over the pre-release business. The makers might be planning the simultaneous release in Tamil as well, as Mahesh already had a good market in Tamil Nadu.

This is a prestigious project for everyone involved and Sukumar wants to give a blockbuster to Mahesh this time. The team of Sukumar has already been working on the script for several months and the script work may continue until the completion of Maharshi.
