Baahubali and C/o Kancharapalem Teams Collaborate for UMUR

The producers of Baahubali and C/o Kancharapalem are collaborating for a film titled Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya. Shobhu Yarlagadda, Prasad Devineni, and Vijaya Praveena Paruchuri announced the news. Venkatesh Maha is going to direct the film. It is an official remake of Fahadh Faasil’s Malayalam film, Maheshinte Prathikaram (2016). Satya Dev will play the lead role in the film.

The announcement video shows Satya Dev as Uma Maheshwara Rao, a proprietor of Komali photo studio, from Araku valley. Shobhu Yarlagadda said that Venkatesh Maha has a unique sensibility in showing nativity which made them confident to bring him on board to handle the project. The film was entirely shot in Araku and is now in post-production. It will be together produced under Arka media works and Mahayana motion pictures banners.
The central theme of the film is revealed in the announcement video. Uma Maheshwara Rao lives a respectable life in society but a brawl leads him to get beaten. He takes an oath that he won’t wear his slippers until he takes revenge by beating up the guy. The original Malayalam version was based on real-life incidents. The filmmakers decided to remake the film without spoiling its realistic appeal. Naresh, Suhaas, and Jabardasth Ramprasad played important roles in the film. Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya will hit theaters on 17 April 2020.
