Naga Shaurya was struggling to get out of the lover boy image since his early career. He experimented with action films but they backfired. After starting his own production company, he tasted success with Chalo. He penned the story of Aswathama and a debutant Ramana Teja directed the film. Mehreen Pirzada is playing the female lead. Samantha released the teaser through her social media account. Naga Shaurya acted in her blockbuster Oh Baby this year.
Aswathama is said to be based on true events. The story revolves around a gang that kidnaps and kills girls using an ambulance and a young man who hunts them down. The teaser hints that the film may be a serial killer film. Naga Shaurya developed six-pack abs and had a make-over into a rugged look to suit the character. He has high hopes for the film and is expecting that the film will bring him an action hero image. The film is set to release on January 31.
