Mahesh Babu stepped into the digital space with a web series in collaboration with Jio Entertainments. The director of Meeku Meere Maaku Meme, Hussain Sha Kiran, will direct the project. He has written Jr NTR’s Nannaku Prematho earlier. The web series is a detective thriller of 24 episodes spanning over 3 seasons. The makers have locked the script for the first season which will contain 8 episodes. The official launch may happen anytime soon. The latest update we hear about the web series is that it will be made in Hindi for pan-India audiences. The title of the web series is Charlie. It will premiere on Netflix by the end of 2019.
Mahesh Babu is currently working on Maharshi and the pre-production work for Sukumar’s film is in progress. He already launched a 7-screen superplex, AMB cinemas. After Bharat Ane Nenu, he sped up his acting career and made several business decisions. As several Hollywood actors and technicians are working for the digital platforms, Mahesh Babu stepped into the production of web series. Netflix didn’t launch its services for Telugu audiences as of now. As they are expanding at a faster rate, we can expect Telugu web series soon. Apart from them, several others are dubbing web series into Telugu which are getting good reception. However, Mahesh Babu is the first Telugu actor to step into the digital platform. Several other actors may soon join him. Mahesh is currently working on Maharshi and will soon start a film with Sukumar. Earlier there are rumors that Katrina Kaif will play the female lead but she confirmed that the makers didn’t approach her.
