Santosh Jagarlapudi made a decent debut with Subrahmanyapuram starring Sumanth Akkineni and Eesha Rebba in lead roles. The film was made on a low budget and went on to become an average grosser at the box office. Subrahmanyapuram faced criticism for its similarities with Nikhil’s Karthikeya. However, many critics ignored it and praised the film for its concept. Incidentally, Karthikeya producer, Venkat Srinivas Boggaram, decided to produce the next film of Santosh Jagarlapudi. The film is going to be a sports drama featuring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role. As per the reports, it is the modern retelling of the Ekalavya-Dronacharya story. Sundeep Kishan will play the role of a sportsman who gives up on his career as a Guru Dakshina to his coach. The team will announce the cast and crew soon. The film will start after the completion of Sundeep Kishan’s Tenali Ramakrishna, BA BL.
Despite consistent flops, Sundeep Kishan has a huge line-up and his upcoming film, Ninnu Veedani Needanu Nene, is gearing up for release. After the completion of Manasuku Nachindi in late 2017, Sundeep Kishan took a break from his acting career and reconciled his decisions. He resumed in late 2018 with his own production company and has been working restlessly ever since. His recent outing Next Enti bombed at the box office. The upcoming films are crucial for him as he is producing many of them himself. He has been choosing scripts of multiple genres. As he has a considerable market in Tamil Nadu, he is planning his future projects to be bilingual films.
